Guinness Supply Issue - December 2024

As you may be aware, Diageo have announced a UK-wide Guinness supply issue and unfortunately the impact is forecasted to be in place for the next few weeks. From a draught perspective, this effects all keg sizes, and one of the interim measures Diageo has taken is to cease production of 30ltr kegs and focus on supplying 50ltr kegs only. Their customer communication statement is below:

"Due to exceptional consumer demand, we musttake proactive allocation measures to manage the supply of Guinness during December. As of this week, all customer orders will be constrained on a weekly basis. This will ensure distribution of stock within the network, maintain normal operations and allow our route-to-market partners the ability to manage demand efficiently within their own network."

As a supplier and partner of Diageo, we have been in daily contact to try and ensure we have as much stock as possible in order to satisfy you our customer over the busy festive period, for you in turn to satisfy your customers, but as detailed in their communication we have been given an allocation that means we in turn are going to be limit supply to our customers in order that all existing customers receive stock.

I completely understand, especially given the time of year, how frustrating this news is but please rest assured we are doing everything we possibly can to source stock in order to satisfy the demand of you and your customers.
