Having worked with us closely for nearly a decade, and previously run the Venner Bar at The Bull Hotel in Bridport which won the Observer Awards best bar in the west four years running, Lloyd is no stranger and definitley knows his cocktails and the beautiful county of Dorset.
To help us celebrate National Amaretto day on 19th April, Lloyd has come up with this Italian and West Country hybrid, a perfect alternative to your normal amaretto go to, as we all raise a glass to this Italian favourite.
25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 dashes of peach bitters
Add to the shaker all of the ingredients and shake hard for a minute with one ice cube, then shake hard again with the shaker full of ice, Strain into a tall glass and garnish with edible flowers.
This take on the classic sour uses aquafaba instead of egg white, a vegan friendly alternative that is the by-product of canned chick peas. Simply decant and use, don't forget to save the chick peas for some hummus to soak up the booze!
Fall in love with amaretto, the 'little bitter' (it's meaning in Italian) through Lloyd's concoction, or perhaps develop your knowledge of the spirit through one of The Grey Bear Bar's residencies, tasting evenings or training sessions.
