Mixologist's Diary - The Big Society
Published: 03 Dec 2019
The Big Society gang took over the site on the Cowley Road in Oxford in September 2012 and after a lot of hard work putting right the lovely listed building, they opened their doors in February 2013 and haven't looked back! Creating something a little different for Oxford; an informal pub/bar/hang out venue that serves tasty food and even better, beer and cocktails.
Stocking a huge range of canned and bottled beers from all over the world and some cheeky draught all served up in 2/3 of a pint this is the beery place to head, especially as their cask ales are sourced from Oxfordshire and its borders.
Not surprisingly, The Big Society's top selling cocktail is gin based... made with Beefeater gin, fresh cucumber, elderflower cordial, fresh lime, apple juice and charged with ginger ale. Watch this short video of their GinGin being made:
Check out this cracking bar whenever you're in Oxford, the team host our Oxford Trade Day's too so watch this space for 2020 as an extra excuse to pop along and meet the team.
