Grape info: Indigenous to the appellation of Rueda in Castilla y Leon (north central Spain), Verdejo is a rising star, producing highly aromatic, full-bodied wines that respond well to barrel fermentations and aging. Now the fifth most planted white variety in Spain.

About: Rodríguez y Sanzo is a family wine company with vineyards across many important Spanish D.Os. Winemaker Javier Rodríguez employs an ethos of sustainable agriculture, increasingly within the framework of biodynamic and organic viticulture to create distinctive wines, rooted in tradition, with a modern twist.

Fermented in French oak and 600L casks with battonage until January, six months in total. Naturally cold-stabilised.

Tasting note: Fresh citrus with the hint of a herbaceous note on the nose. The palate has ripe stone fruit, grapefruit, fennel and lime notes. Rich and full bodied with subtly integrated oak adding vanilla notes and a creamy texture.
