Grapes: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay
Grape info: Sourced from forty different crus including parcels from the famous Cramant and Avize regions, the Grand Brut is assembled from 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier and 20% Chardonnay.
About: Perrier-JouŽt were early proponents of the Brut fashion for Champagnes, pioneering a drier style as early as 1846 that would come to dominate production.
Once the wines have been fermented and racked, the Chef de Caves tastes over 300 wines to select from the most outstanding lots. Grapes from the current vintage are blended with between ten and twenty percent reserve wines to form the final cuvée which then undergoes aging in the houseís historic cellars.
Tasting note: Silvery gold in the glass. Floral aromas, rounded out by fresh fruit and hints of buttery brioche and vanilla. Crisp and light, it combines freshness with a lingeringly rich and generous finish. A vibrant and stylish cuvée.
Character: Floral, fruity, elegant.
