Grape info: Spain’s most planted red varietal, Tempranillo produces markedly tannic wines with notes of leather, tobacco, spice and sometimes strawberries. Graciano retains its acidity exceptionally well, adding freshness and aromatics.

About: Founded in 1889, Marqués del Atrio are fifth-generation producers that have dedicated themselves to cultivating, producing and selling great wine for more than a century.

Macerated for 15-20 days, with daily pumping over. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts to obtain good aromatic complexity. Aged for between 12 and 14 months in French and American oak barrels, with further aging in bottle before release.

Tasting note: Ripe black fruits on the nose with prunes and liquorice. Good concentration on the palate with notes of cherry, blackcurrant and a hint of savouriness. Full bodied with well-integrated tannins and notes of vanilla and sweet spice on the finish.
