Grape info: A native of the northern Rhône valley where, until relatively recently, it was more-or-less confined, Shiraz produces full bodied wines with complex notes of leather, liquorice, and black pepper supported by soft, structural tannins, a weighty mid palate and age-worthy potential.

About: Fiercely independent, family-owned winemakers since1849, Yalumba showcase the best of the Barossa Valley. For six generations we have embraced the magnificent unknown, letting the land lead the way, and growing our vines with as little interference as possible.

Sourced from our growers in the Barossa, the grapes were fermented at cooler temperatures to minimise the extraction of hard tannins, while providing rich and generous fruit. Matured for nine months in a mixture of French, American and Hungarian oak

Tasting note: A generous nose of rhubarb, berry cheesecake, jelly and jam, warm nutmeg and cinnamon followed by violet, raisin and cherry. The moreish palate shows smokiness, boysenberry and sweet spice leading onto plush chewy tannins.
