Grape info: Towards the northern end of the Côte Chalonnaise, Mercurey produces Pinot Noir on par with Côte de Beaune. Wines are typically sturdy, dense and rustic with decent aging potential.
About: Founded in 1831, Albert Bichot’s vineyards now encompass six estates that cover Burgundy from north to south. Working together with their grower partners, they practise sustainable viticulture with a commitment to converting fully to organic viticulture in the Côte d’Or.
Aged entirely in oak with a proportion (10-20%) in new oak for a total period of 14-16 months.
Tasting note: The nose exudes fruity aromas with notes of wild berries, plum and peach. The palate is bursting with the flavour of candy; it is full-bodied, velvety, and very smooth. Harmonious with a long finish.
