Grape info: A native of Croatia (Tribidrag) Primitivo has been successfully transplanted to a number of regions around the world, most notably California, where it’s known as Zinfandel. Its Italian home is Puglia where it makes, rich, full-bodied, alcoholic wines with aromas of stewed fruit, dried herbs and tobacco.
About: Breathing new life into ancient and unique vineyards across Italy, Minini seek to marry new technologies with tradition. A family-run enterprise since 1920, they have been developing relationships and cooperative projects with growers from many of Italy’s wine-producing regions for over 100 years.
Tasting note: Ripe cherry and blackberry on the nose. The palate is soft and approachable with stewed notes of plum jam and woodland fruits.
