Grape info: Cabernet Franc is the paler, softer and more aromatic parent of Cabernet Sauvignon that often exhibits a pronounced herbaceous character. More famous for its role in Bordeaux blends and Chinon, it has recently found a uniquely idiosyncratic expression in Chile’s Uco Valley.
About: In 1925, Rutini Wines became the first winery to plant vines in the Uco Valley which today is world-renowned as one of the top wine-producing regions in Argentina.Located at the foot of the Andes Mountains between 1,000 and 1,500 meters above sea level, its variety of microclimates enable the cultivation of grapes of extraordinary quality.
Matured for twelve months in French oak (50% new) prior to bottling.
Tasting note: Lively and aromatic displaying fragrant notes of fresh red fruit and cherry jam with hints of menthol alongside vanilla and tobacco. Elegant and refined with soft, well integrated tannins and a long finish.
