Grape info: Although Malbec is now more commonly associated with Argentina, its home is Cahors in the south-west of France. If proper ripeness can be achieved, wines can be deeply coloured, aromatic and have good aging potential.
About: In 1925, Rutini Wines became the first winery to plant vines in the Uco Valley which today is world-renowned as one of the top wine-producing regions in Argentina.Located at the foot of the Andes Mountains between 1,000 and 1,500 meters above sea level, its variety of microclimates enable the cultivation of grapes of extraordinary quality.
From low-yielding vines in Altamira, picked at optimum ripeness for maximum concentration and flavour. Aged in French oak (50% new) for twelve months prior to bottling.
Tasting note: Floral notes of violet and lavender on the nose with distinct anise character. Rounded and fresh on the palate, combining fruit with hints of cocoa and toast. Firm, structural tannins and a long finish.
