Cocksure Brewing's first brew took place on January 7th 2017, with it only taking 21 hours to complete, a lot went wrong... but they learnt from their mistakes and revelled in the first pull of their own pint in their local pub.
Over the next few months, recipe amendments continued and the need for a bigger brew house emerged. With purse strings tight, and an eye for regeneration, they utilised, what they could only describe, as a stainless steel graveyard in Manchester. Half-price tanks in tow and an empty warehouse back home, Cocksure Brewing's friend James fabricated the new tanks before cladding,
insulating, and painting them to create a new 2000L brew house, which was commissioned in May 2017.
Throughout the remaining year the lads worked on improving everything they did so they could make the best beer possible. Once through a gruelling few autumnal months of system installations, extending the Cocksure team and unfortunately having to recall their range of cans as the product just wasn't up to scratch, they made it to the end of 2017 having made tough decisions but full of integrity and credibility - hats off guys!
Regardless of their tough first year Cocksure beer is the best it's ever tasted and word is getting out!
Cocksure Brewing also give back to communities in Africa, having joined forces with international development charity: SEND A COW, donating £1 from every keg or cask to support their sustainable farming projects in Africa. SEND A COW's poultry projects in eastern Africa empower local farmers to build environmentally friendly and sustainable businesses which lift their families out of poverty.
