Adam, aka The Bear, and David, aka The Lion, may battle, but at least neither ever forgets it's for the love of beer. Welcome to Firestone Walker, one of our newest additions to the Nectar family.
Established in 1996 in Paso, California, these guys have won over 47 Gold medals for their beers and even been the World Beer Cup Champion!
The bear, Adam Firestone. Growing up on the central coast surrounded by vineyards and winemaking, Adam's gravitation towards brewing started at an early age. The brewing ideas all launched in converted wine making equipment - mostly with mixed results, but the hook was set when the first recipe for Double Barrel Ale was attempted. All that was needed to take this idea beyond a pipe dream was a partner. Many were approached with the idea but none were interested. That is until he persuaded one lone Englishman who happened to be married to his sister...
The lion, David Walker, being British and Adam's brother-in-law brought a European twist to the brewery's proceedings. Together, they dreamt of building an unparalleled regional brewery, one that combined the authenticity of Old World craft with the innovative spirit of California.Together, with their brewmaster Matt Brynildson, Firestone Walker brewery is today a highly successful and innovative company that makes smashing beers.
This month sees our launch of this fantastic brewery from the USA, and the beers that you can now buy through us!
Easy Jack is ridiculously versatile. A boldly hopped yet approachable beer for any occasion. You could call it a new-age IPA. Firestone Walker call it Easy Jack-a devilishly drinkable pale ale loaded with fresh hop character and citrusy goodness.
Easy Jack came about when Brewmaster Matt Brynildson went to the mountain top and returned with a vision for a different kind of IPA, one that would be brewed and dry hopped with a globetrotting selection of newer hop varieties from Germany, New Zealand and North America. He foresaw a beer that would deliver massive hop aromas, surprising dimension, a signature malt balance and an empty glass before you knew what hit you.

Our second Firestone Walker beer is from their rotational series, and from the mind of brew master Matt Brynildson - Luponic Distortion an ever-evolving mix of experimental hops, designed to deliver mind-blowing flavours that break the rules with each new release. The unique revolution number on the label tells you which release you have. Crack fresh and enjoy the show.
Now in rotation: Revolution No. 007, the latest release in Luponic Distortion's revolving hop series, featuring a trail-blazing blend of distinctive hops.
True to form, Revolution No. 007 represents a fresh iteration of Luponic Distortion led by three hop varieties from Australia. This marks the second time that Luponic Distortion has dipped down into the Southern Hemisphere for its lead hops, following the South African hops that set the tone for Revolution No. 004 in previous years.
"The hop intensity level on Revolution No. 007 is high," says Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. "The primary Australian hop is loaded with this bright, citrusy Sauvignon Blanc character, and the other two hops round it out with classic Southern Hemisphere qualities."
A constantly revolving beer that satisfies those craft drinkers who are always looking for the next thing!
