Established by William Chase in 2008, with the mission to challenge the status quo in the spirits industry, Chase Distillery are pioneers of the first Single-Estate Distillery in Britain.
Growing up in Herefordshire, Will felt very lucky to have grown up in this beautiful part of the country. Having farmed potatoes for 20 years, mostly supplying supermarkets as a commodity, he often felt detached, without any feedback from the end customer. With the continual price pressure from the supermarkets as well, Will realised he had to change direction. Wanting to remain in farming and produce a great tasting product that could be made from potatoes.
In 2002 Tyrells crisps was created, and then in 2004 whilst travelling in the USA search for packaging equipment for the crisps, Will stumbled upon a small distillery making potato vodka and thought this would be a great new chapter to life. It took until 2008 to harvest and taste the very first drop, but boy was Chase Distillery born.
Today, their home-grown potatoes are distilled and hand crafted on the family farm in Herefordshire to create award winning Chase Vodka; which in turn gets redistilled with carefully selected botanicals to make their range of gins. Unlike most other distilleries Chase opt out of buying in ready made, neutral grain spirit and in their quest for trace-ability in the industry, only use locally grown ingredients from their fields, giving true provenance.
Chase is a family affair, with son Harry running the farm and son James spreading the field to bottle message as Global Brand Ambassador; every batch is personally signed off by a family member.
"Our family has a passion for farming and we distil from scratch, taking 250 glorious Herefordshire potatoes to make every bottle".
