A refreshingly different drinks supplier

When their objective is to raise £20 million for life-changing water projects by 2020, One Gin have made us sit up!

Meet this inspiring producer here, and find out how a bottle of gin goes a long way...

IWSC Gold award winning One Gin is a very special premium gin created to delight your palate (of course), but every bottle also helps to tackle the global water crisis. One Gin donates at least 10% of its profits to The One Foundation (UK Registered Charity 1118810) to fund life-changing water projects in the world's poorest communities.

It all started with water. Duncan Goose was inspired to start ethical brand, One, after being caught in Hurricane Mitch in Honduras in 1998 - a natural disaster responsible for killing 20,000 people - and experiencing first-hand, life without access to safe drinking water.

When Duncan returned to the UK he went back into his previous marketing career, but the experience stayed with him. Four years later, he saw a photograph in The Guardian newspaper of a young girl sat next to a padlocked tap in Nairobi, Kenya - this would change his life forever. The image made such an impact on him that he quit his job and used the skills he had learnt in his marketing and advertising career to launch the ethical bottled water brand, One Water. The idea was simple: to sell bottled water in the UK and give away the profit to fund the provision of clean water in the world's poorest communities.

Ultimately, to change lives One bottle at a time, One person at a time.

One Gin is distilled using nine core botanicals: angelica, coriander seed, cassia bark, lemon peel, liquorice, nutmeg, orange peel, juniper and orris root; plus one signature botanical: fresh English sage. It has an overall aromatic nose of fresh sage, juniper and freshly cut sandalwood, with hints of orange marmalade. This leads to a palate of juniper, sweet and dry citrus, a hint of spice and a warm, smooth savoury finish. It's also vegetarian, vegan and gluten free.

One Gin works wonderfully in a cocktail or in our nation's favourite - the G&T...

For a herbaceous twist on the UK's favourite drink pour One Gin over lots of ice with a premium tonic water, and garnish with freshly cut apple slices and a sage leaf or two.

50ml One "sage" Gin
120ml premium tonic water
3 x freshly cut apple slices
1 x fresh sage leaf

Or why not try a Dry Martini - a full-bodied, savoury expression of this timeless classic.

60ml One "sage" Gin
10ml dry vermouth
1 x lemon twist or green olive

Combine chilled One Gin and dry vermouth in a cold tin or mixing glass. Add clean, fresh ice and stir around 60 to 80 times. Strain into a frozen coupette or martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist or green olive.

The One Foundation works with carefully selected local partners around the world to implement life-changing programmes in sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene. Its unique strategic focus is to fund water utility infrastructures in poor communities, ensuring universal access to safe, clean water. To end the reliance on aid for good.
