IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR - Bodega Los Haroldos

Bodega Los Haroldos is owned by Familia Falasco with over 70 years experience making fine wines.Today the third generation now leads the way in the pursuit of making fabulous wines, something that started back in 1939 when a young 'Don Lolo Falasco' started selling wines from the front of his bike, but he had ambition, a dream and worked hard.

The little angel motif on the wine cap raising a glass to heaven is a nod to those family members that have gone before.

Their vineyards are located in Mendoza, a stunningly beautiful region located at the foot of the Andes Mountains and Argentina's largest wine producing region. Here, the winters are chilly, summers are dry and hot, nights are cool and the vines are fed by the snow melt water from the mountains. Its alluvial soils are fertile, containing silt, sand, clay and no boulders. High altitudes between 700 - 1200 meters provide cool nights and distinctive seasons which are essential in this warmer climate; and the increased UV light at these heights also encourages the grapes to produce thicker skins, which brings great character to the wines.

Their winery remains faithful to the traditional Mendocinean style, with its high walls, cane and wood rooftops within the old building structure.

Tradition is enhanced by the latest technology, an outstanding laboratory, and the exhaustive control of temperatures and smart use of their old concrete vats, leaving nothing to chance. In addition, the finest wines are aged in American and French oak barrels, sheltered in their underground cellar.

Los Haroldos Chacabuco
