Grape: Piquepoul Blanc

Grape info: A native of southern France, Picpoul has been cultivated there for centuries but only recently have its luminous citrus fruits and nervy acidity been in such demand. Lemon-scented and occasionally on the floral side, it makes a famously good accompaniment to seafood.

About: Floriane and Olivier Azan purchased Chateau Petit Roubie in 1981 and converted into an organic farm in 1995. In 2012, they were the only certified organic estate in the entire appellation, Picpoul de Pinet.

Tasting note: Zesty and fresh on the nose with notes of lemon, grapefruit and green apples. The palate is focused and refreshing with hints of lime zest and Picpoul’s signature, marine acidity.
