Grape info: A blend of 50% Cinsaut, 35% Syrah and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cinsaut’s attractive, perfumed fruits are here blended with Syrah’s soft, structural tannins and weighty mid palate. Cabernet’s deep colour, high acidity and high tannin provide structure and freshness.
About: Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, Chateau Musar first won international acclaim for their 1967 vintage at the Bristol wine fair. In 1984 serge, Gaston’s son, would be recognised by Decanter magazine as their first ‘Man of the Year’ in 1984 in recognition of his dedication to producing wine throughout Lebanon’s civil war (1975-1990).
Tasting note: This unoaked wine is wonderfully fresh and full of ripe blueberry fruit. Good acidity keeps the wine vibrant within a medium to full bodied textured palate. Fresh and fruity and designed to be enjoyed in its youth.
Character: Raspberry, violet, black tea
