Terrasses de Fontanieu, Bandol Rose
Terrasses de Fontanieu, Bandol Rose
Sweetness: Dry
Grape(s): Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre
Grape info: With its medicinal levels of alcohol and an attractive herby, spicey character, Grenache lends itself very well to rosé production. Southern France can produce some of the world’s finest iterations of this style, often displaying a refined mineral structure and elegance. Cinsault’s natural aromatic profile, including notes of cherries, raspberries and violets, translates seamlessly into a soft, attractively perfumed character; the archetypal compliment to any rosé.
Info: In 1987, spurred by his desire to embrace the potential of the two unique wine regions that are the Rhône valley and Provence, Roger Ravoire founded his family business with the help of his wife Francine. In 2004, their son Olivier joined the company to develop the business and promote the excellence of the region’s terroirs.
Tasting note: Very light brilliant pink colour with bluish hues. Expressive nose, elegant and fruity with refined aromas of mango and red kirsch fruits. The mouthfeel is full and well-balanced on the palate.
Character: Mango, raspberry, strawberry
