Grape info: A native of the northern Rhône valley, Shiraz has been transplanted to many wine regions throughout the world where it is prized for producing full bodied wines with complex notes of leather, liquorice, and black pepper supported by soft, structural tannins, a weighty mid palate and age-worthy potential. 

Info: Founded in 1749 as a rural relais on historic trade routes, Domaine Gayda was re-established in 2004 by Tim Ford and Anthony Record, who aimed to showcase Languedoc’s excellent terroir with rigorous, site-led winemaking. The Sphere range presents a series of varietal wines, using carefully selected Languedoc terroirs and a minimal-intervention approach in the cellar.

Tasting note: Aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry on the nose, accompanied by notes of coffee bean and mocha. Intense and fresh, marked by pepper and violets.  On the palate, black fruits and mocha aromas continue, enhanced by hints of spice. The freshness is remarkable, offering a unique personality and a fine expression of Syrah, with a deep, elegant structure.
