Encantado Moonlight Signature White
Encantado Moonlight Signature White
Sweetness: Dry
Grape(s): Viognier, Alvarinho, Arinto
Grape info: Until relatively recently, Viognier teetered on the verge of extinction, confined to the right bank of the northern Rhône valley, where it made the now world-famous whites of Condrieu. Renewed interest in its uniquely perfumed character rescued it from the brink and today it can be found in virtually every wine producing country in the world. In the right hands, it makes full-bodied, heady wines with distinctive notes of honeysuckle, rose and gingerbread.
Info: Located in the Alentejo, Monte da Ravasqueira forms part of a long-established family estate dating back to 1943, with vineyards set across the open plains of one of Portugal’s most important wine regions. The project centres on regional varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, alongside a selection of international grapes that reflect the estate’s clear ambition to position itself among the leading producers of the region.
Tasting note: Bright and aromatic, Encantado White opens with aromas of citrus, white peach and tropical fruit, lifted by delicate floral notes. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, with lively acidity, ripe stone fruit flavours and a crisp, mineral finish. Made from carefully selected Portuguese varieties, the grapes are gently pressed and cool fermented in stainless steel to preserve their vibrant fruit, purity and freshness
Character: Citrus, peach, tropical fruit.
