Marques del Atrio Albarino
Sweetness: Dry
Grape(s): Albarino
Grape info: A native of northwest Spain and northern Portugal (Alvarinho) making full bodied, structural wines often with a keen, saline acidity, alongside plenty of fruit and all manner of floral aromas. Increasingly popular, it has been transplanted as far afield as North America, Australia and even Southern England.
Info: Founded in 1889, Marqués del Atrio are fifth-generation producers that have dedicated themselves to cultivating, producing and selling great wine for more than a century.
Bunches are destemmed and partially crushed with a significant proportion of whole berries. Maceration lasts between 6-8 hours followed by pressing, racking and fermentation at 15-18ºC, using selected yeasts.
Tasting note: Fresh and aromatic, with notes of citrus, white peach and a hint of floral lift. Crisp acidity and a subtle saline edge lead to a clean, refreshing finish that reflects its Atlantic influence.
Character: Citrus, white peach, white flowers.
