Grape info: Though Glera’s precise origins remain in dispute, its popularity does not. The great majority is used for sparkling and semi-sparkling production in the Veneto region of northeast Italy, most importantly in the DOCG of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. With enough sun exposure the grapes can develop complex and refined flavours.

Info: Founded in the hills of Valdobbiadene, La Tordera is at the heart of the Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG production area, between Venice and the Dolomites. Always on the lookout for innovation whilst mindful of their bond with the land and its traditions, they pursue ever more "green” approaches to winemaking in harmony with the environment.

A light pressing of the grapes is employed to retain their delicate aromatics with a second fermentation in stainless steel tanks lasting four months.

Tasting note: Bright, pale straw in colour with a fragrant mix of flowers and fruit on the nose: hints of sour pear, green apple and lychee. The palate is lively and youthful with notes of citrus fruit, jasmine and thyme.

Character: Light, floral, citrus.
