Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon

Grape info: Merlot’s soft, attractive fruitiness have seen it transplanted to almost every wine-growing country in the world. Approachable, with more mellow tannins Cabernet Franc, it lends flavours of plum jam and cherries. Cabernet Franc provides a more aromatic note of strawberry, green pepper and wet stone. Cabernet Sauvignons deep colour, high acidity and high tannin confer body and longevity.

About: This Château is an invitation to travel through time. In the 12th century, the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem established a hospice here to care for crusaders and pilgrims. Cabernet Franc vines were planted at the estate to provide wine for the masses. Time is still a willing accomplice today, allowing the wine to fully develop elegance and body.

Ageing in French oak barrels for 12 months, 50% new barrels.

Tasting note: This wine shows a beautiful purple colour and an open nose with notes of ripe fruits and cherries. The palate reveals supple tannins thanks to grapes picked at optimal ripeness. Smooth finish. Very promising.

Character: Cherry, plum, blackcurrant.
