Harvey's Bristol Cream
Harvey's Bristol Cream
Sweetness: Sweet
Grape: Palamino, Pedro Ximenez
Grape info: A native of Andalucia, Palamino is by far the most widely planted variety permitted for Sherry production. Neutrally flavoured, low in acidity and with a tendency to oxidise, it is well suited to many styles of Sherry where oxidation often makes an important contribution to the wines’ character. The Pedro Ximenez grape is typically high in sugar and traditionally dried in the sun to produce an intensely rich and sweet style of fortified wine. Cream Sherries are those that blend dry styles with the sweetness of Pedro Ximenez.
About: Launched in 1882, and granted the Royal Warrant shortly after, Bristol Cream is crafted from a delicate blend of Jerez’s finest wines; delicate Finos, aged Amontillados, fragrant Olorosos and the special Pedro Ximenez grape providing a silky, mellow smoothness. A complete, balanced and surprising compendium of wine from Jerez, it’s best enjoyed chilled at 12°C in a wine glass or mix over ice with a slice of orange.
Tasting note: Known for its deep golden chestnutty and amber tones, the nose is full, fragrant, pungent and elegant all at once. On the palate Bristol Cream delivers a full-bodied experience with rich yet mellow notes leaving a long lasting and velvety finish.
Character: Chestnut, almond, raisin
