Grape info: Merlot’s soft, attractive fruitiness have seen it transplanted to almost every wine-growing country in the world. Approachable, with more mellow tannins than its traditional blending partners, Merlot tends towards flavours of plum jam, cherries and an occasionally herbaceous note.

About: Founded over a century ago, Viña La Rosa is located in one of Chile’s most exciting wine regions in the Cachapoal Valley: Peumo. Today, the traditions of its founders inspire a sustainable approach to viticulture and continue to inform a terroir-based mindset where respect for the environment is paramount.

Aged in French oak for nine months prior to bottling.

Tasting note: Intense aromas of plums and cherries along with notes of bay leaves, chocolate and vanilla. The palate is medium bodied with good intensity and a lengthy finish.
