Grape info: A native of the northern Rhône valley, Shiraz has been transplanted to many wine regions throughout the world where it is prized for producing full bodied wines with complex notes of leather, liquorice, and black pepper supported by soft, structural tannins, a weighty mid palate and age-worthy potential.

Info: Located in the Alentejo, Monte da Ravasqueira forms part of a long-established family estate dating back to 1943, with vineyards set across the open plains of one of Portugal’s most important wine regions. The project centres on regional varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, alongside a selection of international grapes that reflect the estate’s clear ambition to position itself among the leading producers of the region.

Tasting note: Rich and approachable, offering aromas of ripe blackberries, plums and cherries with hints of sweet spice and mocha. The palate is smooth and rounded, with supple tannins, juicy dark fruit and a well-balanced finish. Produced from selected Portuguese grape varieties, the wine is fermented under temperature-controlled conditions, with a proportion matured in oak to add depth, complexity and subtle spice.
