Grape info: Sauvignon Blanc finds its purest and most celebrated expression in Sancerre. Unblended and unoaked the finest examples produce a lively, youthful fruitiness that can benefit from a year in bottle and successfully translate subtle nuances of terroir into the glass.
About: Founded in 1962 the Durand estate eventually expanded to include 43 hectares of vines: 33 in and around Sancerre with a further ten in Menetou-Salon. Working in the principle of minimum intervention with the utmost respect for the environment, wines are made with great care in-situ and have established the domaine’s excellent reputation.
Tasting note: A fresh nose of menthol with citrus notes. The palate is supple and open with notes of green bel pepper, cut grass and passion fruit. Lively and refreshing with a clean, mineral finish.
